The West face

The West face of Mont-Blanc photographed from a commercial airplane. Also called the Miage Face, it is its loneliest. Cold, not visible from the valley, it has less appeal, except for those seeking adventure. Picture with names overlayed.

The Bionnassay ridge are to the right. The triangular summit is Aiguille de Bionnassay, a 4000 metres peak.

Sunset a few pitches under the summit of Mont-Blanc. Under a sea of clouds over the Brouillard ridge at the left,  the Bionnassay ridge is at the right, which frames the Miage face.
